New Home Wishes - Papertrey Ink Happy Camper

Image
Hi Friends! Today's tag is inspired by moving to new places and exploring new faces and wishing lots of happiness upon those who do. We feel like we won the neighborhood lottery, and love how much these beautiful, warm days bring out life on our cozy little streets. It's always fun to watch the yards transform, the neighbors reconnect. Despite all the ongoing work and hectic Spring to-do lists, it's my favorite time year because everything seems to awaken! Love seeing kids playing out in the street once again, and neighbors enjoying their front porches, catching up since our long hibernation, or meeting for the first time.  Really feeling the neighborhood vibes and feeling so grateful that we live on such a great little street. To start this tag, I used Rustic White cardstock and PTI's Tag Sale: Quilted die , cutting off the bottom and adding an oval bottom, cut with To the Point Edgers 2 , out of Rustic Cream cardstock .  At the top of the tag, I added some yellow rib...

Congratulations on Your Special Day - How to Create Subtle Backgrounds

Image
Lately, I've been finding that when I'm stamping large focal points, the rest of my card can quickly start to suffer from a lack of attention. Any of you been there too?  What I mean by this, is that I'm so intently focused on coloring the pretty flowers, picking just the right sentiment, or thinking about topper details, that when I look around the card, the rest of it just seems so empty and neglected. Now I will be the first to admit that I looove white space. It really allows beautiful focal points to shine. But sometimes all that white can be overwhelming and I can find myself at a loss of how to make the white space appear just a tad less white. Come in subtle backgrounds :)  I've been playing with adding in a soft detail (or two) to bring my cards to life, without losing that white space feeling. And I thought it would be fun to share here with you my go-to way of doing this. I started this card by cutting out a scalloped card base with these beautiful Lawn Fawn ...

Congratulations - Papertrey Ink + New Fave Iridescent Rhinestones

Image
Good Morning!  Today's card is a combination of soft colors, touches of home, and wispy layers.  I can't quite put into words how much I love teeny, tiny houses. Especially ones made of soft, colorful hues. I think they add such a home-y touch and evoke feelings of comfort and homemade goodness. Something I can't get enough of. I started this card with a white cardstock base. To that, I added three layers of patterned paper, in varying colors. I love these sweet shades so much :) To the top, I added a soft ribbon finished with a stitched button. For the centerpiece of this card, I used PTI's Scene It: Basic Backer die for the scalloped circle.  To decorate the scalloped circle, I used some of my favorite Wplus9 stamps, Fresh Cut Florals (no longer available, but you can find a similar style here ). I used colors of Blueberry Sky, Lovely Lady, Aqua Mist, and Green Parakeet for my ink colors. Atop the wreath, I added a punched circle , along with a vellum heart, cut usi...

Happy Spring - Papertrey Ink Huggable Die and Holiday Hugs Kit Switch-Up

Image
Hello everyone!  Not that long ago, I picked up a sweet kit from Papertrey Ink, the Make it Market: Holiday Hugs, but much too late to actually use it for winter or holiday cards. So you might ask, what is a girl to do? Re-purpose it, of course :)  Today's trio features a more feminine, Spring-inspired twist on a really fun winter themed kit!  If you look closely, you will see that the base used for this sweet little girl is the Tag Sale: Huggable die from PTI. And all the little pieces are from the Make it Market: Holiday Hugs set. I used the eyes and lips as is, and used Santa's joyful lips, as the cheek color. I decided to die-cut two of Santa's beard pieces, and turn them into her polka-dotted hair! To her hair, I added some floral embellishments, and I also stamped a few hearts along her bodice. Adding in a few floral strips and colorful bows, makes for a very Spring-y look, indeed.  To finish this sweet tag, I added a mini tag cut using PTI's Tremendous Tags d...

Wedding Congrats - Papertrey Ink Challenge

Image
Hello dear friends, I hope you are doing fine this evening.  I am so glad to be back at it again, blogging and creating. I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and New Years. It's hard to believe it's been so long since I've popped in last. I must admit, I wasn't sure if I'd make a comeback anytime soon, so I am beyond grateful to be here this eve :) I'll share a little snippet about what's been happening at the end of the post, but before we get to that, I have a very special little creation tonight, inspired by a super fun challenge over at Papertrey Ink!  Did you know that PTI is celebrating 11 years this month? It's hard to believe how quickly the time has gone by! I remember my very first PTI order like it was yesterday. And my love for their products only grows with every release!  This little card was inspired by the Floral Challenge , and it tickles my heart to be giving these little PTI florals a go. I think they're mighty fitting for a...
