More July Altenew Inspiration

Image
Another entry for Altenew's challenge! I created this wee card with a lot of the same ingredients as I used in this post . I love that these colors challenged me so much! I usually don't work well with monochromatic shades or cooler hues, so this was a super fun way to step out of my comfort zone. Keeping with the same color theme as the July Altenew Inspiration Challenge, I used the gorgeous Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp to add some floral touches to this sweet tag from PTI's  Tag Sale Quilted  die. I used a variety of PTI ink colors - listed for you below. To dress up the tag, I added a blue border by cutting out another tag and trimming out the middle part. I also added a soft bow and button to the top. A few sprinkles of sequins and  Nuvo Jewel drops in Sea Breeze  finish off this little tag. Here's the wonderful inspo photo - hope you can play along! Thanks so much for visiting friends! Ivana

Altenew July Inspiration Challenge

Image
Well, it's been a minute! How have you all been? Have you had any wonderful holidays or special events over the last few weeks? Things have been hectic around here, to say the least. And this summer has been kicking our butt quite a bit in the health department. It's made it so very difficult to stay on top of the blog, among other things.  But, I made a pile of cards some weeks back, and even pre-written a few posts, so I'll be sharing some goodies over the next little bit, and hopefully by then everything will return back to normal. For today, I have a duo to share just in time for Aletenew's Inspiration Challenge . I found the colors to be so beautiful, but also very challenging to work with. I resisted the urge all along to add a dash of warmer hues. Prior to this challenge, I did not realize how much I rely on warmer tones! Do any of you have a go-to that is particularly hard to work around in your cardmaking? My top three are: layers, use of white, and recently di...

Queen and Company - Circle Shaped Shaker Set Revisited

Image
Hello Friends! I'm back with more cards featuring the Circle Shaped Shaker Set . For my first card today, I’m sharing a shaker, but for my second card, I’m sharing a little twist on the fun dies included in this set. Here we go! First up, I wanted to take this beautiful shaker that features all three layers of circles, and really dress it up, so I added swirls of blended ink and heat-embossed sentiments to the base of the card. The pretty sentiments are included in the kit, and I used colors of PTI's Aqua Mist and Distress Oxide Abandoned Coral  for the blending. For the shaker I used paper from the Dots pad  and Birthday Bash pad. I added a lot of sparkly bits and bobbles inside and outside the shaker, including pearls , rhinestones, and Diamond Toppings , as well as pretty dots all over the shaker itself. I added a touch of striped ribbon and some flowers to the card for a romantic twist. I used Queen and Company Pom Flowers and Glitter Flowers in Purple. I also added swee...

Eight is Great! - Queen and Co Circle Shaped Shaker Kit

Image
Our dear friend's daughter is turning 8 this Summer, and I just couldn't resist making a card for her! She is as girly and sweet as it gets, so it didn't take much to twist my arm to pull out all my frilly bits and make something special for her.  I also loved getting to play one more time with Queen and Co's lovely Circle Shaped Shaker Set , and putting a fun twist on the dies in the kit!  I used the circle dies to cut out two circles and coordinating inserts, to create a lovely '8'.  I used papers from the Birthday Bash , Dots , Stripes and Flirty Florals pads. To decorate the card, I added a couple of sweet paper banners, the first stamped with a stamp included in the kit, and the second handwritten with my favoritest ever white pen, the Signo Uni-Ball White pen.  It's super solid and smooth. Now only if I could have gorgeous handwriting or a shake-free hand - maybe I'll practice a bit on those fronts ;) I also added a pink Tulle Blossom , as well a...

Introducing Queen and Company Circled Shaped Shaker Set

Image
Today is such a special and exciting day! It's my first day over on the Queen and Company blog , sharing some fun cards with the adorable, super versatile Circle Shaped Shaker Set . I have lots of fun cards in store for you, but for today's purposes, I'll be sharing three cards, showcasing just how fun and versatile this beautiful shaker kit is! First up, I’ve whipped up a card inspired by all the things we love about the fun festivities Summer brings. Whether you call it a State Fair, a Carnival, or an Exhibition, one iconic feature of this splendid Summertime tradition,  is the yummy, colorful food! And so in that spirit, this little number was inspired by the soft, swirly tones of my favorite: cotton candy! I loved using the circle dies in this kit to make a card that wasn’t all about shakers. It shows just how versatile and fun this kit is to play with. Who doesn't love pretty, scalloped, stitched circles!  I paired the lovely circle dies with some pretty prints fro...
