Holiday Felt Pocket - How and When to use Different Types of Felt

Image
It's almost December, and I can't believe how few Christmas-y projects I've done this year. So I'm fast trying to catch up today, even though I know many of you are celebrating a whole other, very special Holiday this weekend! For my friends South of the border, I'm certain many Thanksgiving celebrations abound today, and I wish everyone a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. May your weekend be filled with family, happiness, gratitude and love.  Today, I'm sharing a little pouch card and my favorite ways to use different types of felt! Before decorating this little pouch, I started with a basic piece of felt, cut and folded over and adhered with a bit of glue. Since I will be making piles of these pockets for Holiday gifting, being a little thrifty with the supplies will definitely be helpful :) So I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to chat all things felt, and talk about the main differences in quality, price, and usability between three of my favor...

Christmas Wishes - How to use Printable Tags - On Sale Now!

Hello friends!  I've been whipping up some more traditional cards lately with soft, vintage, Christmas tones.  Since I'm still deciding what shades to work with for our decorations at home, it's been sort of fun playing around with different options on paper first. Our year-round decor is rather neutral, which means that Christmas time is always fair game for all sorts of colorful combinations. I'm itching to get into our bins and to start playing around with all the fun bits + bobbles from Christmases past, but I still feel it's a tad early for decking the halls, so for now, decorating paper will be plenty to keep me happy :) Keeping in theme with decorations, I wanted to create a pretty wreath for this card. Wreaths are my all-time favorite Christmas (and year-round) decoration. I also love beautiful, fresh greenery - whether it be boxwood, cedar, olive, pine, eucalyptus or anything in between - so this tinsel was just the perfect touch for this card. It's act...

Holiday Sparkle - Papertrey Ink

Image
Wow, it's hard to believe that we're into mid-November already! I guess you can tell that I'm still trying to hold on to every little bit of Summery vibes with all the bright holiday cards that you've seen here lately. But I promise to get into more traditional hues very soon! In fact, I have a batch almost ready for my next post. For now, though, I'm loving how much happiness these colors add to cold, dark winter days.  To create this colorful card, I started with a plain Rustic White cardstock from Papertrey Ink.  I layered a couple of patterned paper bits on the top left corner and bottom right corner. I love this beautiful patterned paper collection from Bo Bunny . It's a tad of an older collection, called Candy Cane Lane.  It's super bright and festive and I love the bitty vintage touches!  Next up, I added a vertical strip of embroidered ribbon - a purchase from MJ Trimming . The online selection doesn't quite match the awesomeness of the experie...

Bright and Cheery Christmas Tags - Papertrey Ink

Happy Tuesday friends!  Here to share a couple of little tags I created recently.  It's been such a joy to work with vibrant colors and mix them into Holiday crafting.  It's also a plus that it brightens these cold days a tad.  Have you started planning for the Holidays yet?  My mind is full of recipes, fun activities, and crafty ideas I'd like to try, but for now, some fun tags to add to the shoppe will do just the trick!  You can check them out here.    To create the tags, I started with bright pink cardstock, and two Papertrey Ink dies to make the tag shapes: Tag Sale #4 , and the Scene It: Basic Backer die.   For the first tag, I used Limitless Layers: Circles , to cut out the scalloped peach round, and a slightly larger punch to cut out the white cardstock bit. Just on top of that, I layered a stamped Santa Clause image from an old vintage Christmas stamp set. I absolutely love his jovial face and the beautiful vintage detailing o...
