Berry Big Hugs

Image
It's Fri-YAY! Welcome, Friends! I hope your week has been wonderful so far.  Today I'm popping in to share a set of cards inspired by our freezer full of berries. A little while back, we had the opportunity to spend a wonderful morning in the berry patch, picking pails upon pails of beautiful, sun-ripened strawberries. And since one can only eat so many while they're fresh, we decided to freeze the rest. I've been pondering all week what type of recipes I will use them in, so if you have any favorites, please do share below.  But until then, I decided to create a little card as a thank you to our dear friend who shared her beautiful berries with us! And a couple more just for good measure. Oh and I've added the doubles to the shoppe ! Just in case you're itching for a touch of sweetness in your life ;) I really wanted to crate something that made the strawberries pop, and I think these fit the bill! I love the bold, red details against the soft background. To c...

Handmade Gifting - Make Your Own DIY Card Bundles!

I am a sucker for handmade things. In the kitchen, in the craft room, and especially in gift-giving!  Every now and again, I love to design a batch of cards with someone in mind as inspiration, and then share the cards with them. This particular set was designed with my mom in mind. She spends much of the Summer in her garden, tending to the plants, and just like the beautiful greenery, she comes alive during our short, but wonderful growing season.  I love watching her get excited when the first berries start to pop up, or talking with her about what new recipes she will try out when harvest is upon us. Many of the cards in this set are splashed with colorful blooms and lots and lots of stamped details. They're simple, and most are flat, so that they can be mailed. (Last thing you want the recipient to worry about is how to find an envelope for that gorgeous, but oh-so-bulky card!) I also love that anyone can really create these. Yes, there is a little bit of investment requi...

Treats from the Kitchen - Simple Watercolors

Hello friends, I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  We've been busy this past month with travel and so many day-to-day things, but yesterday, we finally had a day off to spend together. And it just so happened to be the most wonderful and sunny day. So we took a little drive through the Southern portion of our province, visited a provincial park, and a beautiful city nearby.  No set agenda, just the two of us, a camera, and lots and lots of road to explore. I love days like that.  Today we're catching up on a few things at home, and it's a perfect morning for it. A little cloudy and a bit breezy. I'm spending the morning editing our travel photos. Sadly, they get very little love around here.  Between client images and work shots, I rarely spend time on our images. But I have a goal and I'm determined to finish all of our trip photos before the end of  the year! That's 6 trips, 14 different cities, countless beautiful towns....annnnnnd thousands of images....

Love You - Little Tag with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Image
Thanks for joining me today! I hope you've all had a wonderful long weekend.   We had plenty of sunshine and summertime bliss here. It's the first really beautiful summer weather we've had, and it was simply glorious!  Today I'm back to work, but before I start that, I wanted to share a little tag I created a while back along with the rest of the tags I shared  a little while back, but I completely forgot to post. For this tag, I used a mix of fun flowers, stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Zig Real Brush Markers . To embellish the flowers, I used sequins and buttons, as well as a few colored leaves.  For the top of tag, I used a hand-dyed ribbon, and a itty bitty die-cut tag from Papertrey Ink's Tiny Tags die. I love these tiny little tags, they are a perfect add-on to ribbon embellishments and just the perfect size for little sentiments.  For the bottom of the tag, I used a bit of tassel trim, tucked underneath a watercolored tag.  Before I go ...
